I am at an age where I am losing lots of friends to suburbia. There are a litany of reasons why people ultimately decide to leave the city, but I think without question the two most common reasons I hear are space and schools. Young couples quickly outgrow their 2 bed / 2 bath, 1,200 square foot condo when they start adding little ones into the mix.

I purchased this 850 square foot, 1 bed / 1 bath condominium, located in “The Coca-Cola Building” in the South Loop in October 2013. I bought it from a bank after it had gone into foreclosure. As you can see from the listing photos below, it was not a particularly attractive unit. However, I was drawn to the character of it.
